RCHR 2016 Spring Schedule Update

Hey guys just want to take a minute and update everyone on the upcoming schedule.

We had originally scheduled a layout change for the week of April 10th..But this layout has been down for a while and a window has opened up for us to move the layout build up about 3 weeks and start it this Wednesday Night after we are done with racing.

Since there is a lot of racing going on the weekend of April 3rd, We have decided to cancel the trophy race and instead have club racing on Saturday April 2nd on the brand new layout.

To help kick off racing on the new layout we will have a Club Race Challenge that night and a raffle off a Brand New Kit!!!

Everyone who races will be automatically entered and the winners for each qualifier and main will earn some extra tickets for an even better chance to win! Stay tuned for the details!

I would also like to remind everyone that the Following Saturday April 9th is the King’s of CT finale!!! There has been some great racing and big turnouts for this entire series and we will be looking to continue that trend and cap it off with some racing action on the new layout!

Our next trophy race will be:

RCHR Spring Indoor Champs Trophy Race
on Sunday May 1st

I would like to announce that we WILL be building an outdoor track this year!!! And it will be old school…Authentic offroad style made for offroad tires!

Our outdoor opener will be:

1st Annual RCHR Old School Outdoor Dirt Showdown
on Sunday June 5th

We will be racing outdoors for the summer trophy races and on Saturdays only. Wednesday nights we will race indoors unless otherwise posted. There are no rainouts at RCHR so this year we will be maintaining our indoor track and building a new indoor layout for the summer months at the end of June. Weather we are indoors or out, we will have the best possible racing surface for everyone to run on!

We have the schedule for the entire year posted up on RCHR.BIZ so please check it out!!!!!

Also we are hammering out the details for some other big summer series announcements…so please stay tuned!

Track & Facility Update – Aug 2015

Hi everyone, its with great pleasure that I’d like to let you all know about some updates done to the facility and track over the last week.  First and foremost, we have updated the layout with several changes.  With all of the construction going on we opted for an update instead of a full change.  We are going to be running the layout in reverse for this go-around.  We added two new doubles, one in the center and one in the back of the track.  A significant portion of the track got completely turned over with jackhammer and tillers.  The entire racing surface got the Zamboni treatment with a mud broom (Thank you Jim Tani) and is smooth as glass.  Also, all of the pipes were replaced with new ones.

The big change however was to the facility and drivers stand.  For a long time I have wanted to put up a wall between the track and the pits.  There are several reasons for this but mainly to address the need to get a decent size machine to the track area had been impossible to date.  In the past a dingo was used to do the layout changes.  But a bigger machine is necessary to perform the necessary track maintenance in the coming months/years.  Access to the track was blocked by pit benches and the staircase to the drivers stand.  We made the pit bench portable and moves the staircase inside the pits.  We also added a removable garage door in the area on the left side of the drivers stand and completely walled off the area on the right.  Secondly I wanted to address the problem of dust in the pits….I’m sure everyone will be happy about that one.  And thirdly, it will be much easier to control temperatures during the winter months with the different areas zoned off.

This was a big job and I’d like to thank everyone who helped out over this last week.  A HUGE thank you goes out to Rob Denhardt, Mike German, Jay Kennedy, Greg Canale, Jim Tani, Butch Piccarillo, Dakota Brooks, Casy Popke, Steve Merchant, Mark Westerfield and Eric and Blake Wazocha.

I can’t wait to get back to racing action this Wednesday Night and for the trophy race this coming sunday!
